Farringdon 5mph limit

Farringdon Thameslink southbound has a 5mph on it today because of a broken rail. I am sure I recall other fairly recent broken rail incidents in the core.

Is that right and if so, surely this is a bit odd considering the overall incidence of broken rails on the network?

Issues with replacing an IBJ overnight rather than a broken rail itself. it couldn't be replaced so has a 5 mph until it is, expected to be tonight.

It is a block between sections of track that is insulated.
It is insulated to stop electric currents travelling from one section of track to the other, so the signalling system can know where trains are
