Just a quick message to say that I am planning to run more fares workshops in due course.

If anyone is interested, please reply below, and I will send you a link to the Google form, to indicate your preferences.

We can cover any topics requested by those attending.

These events are always free of charge; they are funded by revenue from the forum's ticketing site and adverts. We are not a business and run on a not-for-profit basis, so any spare money - after running costs are deducted - goes towards good causes, such as running events for our members.

The reason there hasn't been so many recently is because our income has been greatly reduced for the past 5 years. It is slowly recovering.

Bit short notice for a London jaunt in my case. Generally keen though.

Everyone who has responded so far should have a link to the application form.

By the way, there is a possibility of the next workshop being held in Grantham tomorrow; this is because the weather forecast looks too dire for the walk we had planned. If anyone is interested, please complete the form (if you haven't done so already) and send me a message.

I would be very interested in a workshop in or near London in the future. Was unfortunately away for the one two weekends ago!

There are more fares workshops being planned - reply here or PM me if anybody wishes to attend.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about fares, the industry in general, or to simply network :)

Meets within the Manchester - Birmingham - York triangle and in London are no problem to organise.

I'll check with @yorkie in terms of dates (to avoid any double booking) and an update will be posted here. :)

There will be a fares workshop in Birmingham this month; please complete the application form by the end of this weekend if you'd like a place.

Everyone who replied above should have a link to the form already; if not, please reply below.

I would be interested in coming along for a refresher, as long as I can get the dates to line up.

I'd be interested in attending though it would largely depend on the actual date and time.

(Been a lurker for the past 2 years, hope that isn't a problem?)

A workshop took place in Birmingham on 17th August; it was well attended, and hopefully everyone who came found it useful/helpful/interesting.

The second of these may take place in London on Saturday 13th September; I've sent a message to everyone on the poll who said "yes" to London and hasn't yet attended a fares workshop.

If anyone else is interested; whether that be for London or anywhere else, please reply here, and I will send you a link to the application form.

They are open to anyone; whether you work in the industry, or want to work in the industry, or are looking to develop some software, or if you simply have an interest in fares and ticketing. Indeed, I can think of a dozen or so people who attended a fares workshop and then went on to work in this area!

Are there restrictions in regards to attending multiple workshops (particularly in a short timeframe)? If not, I'd potentially be interested in attending, though only if it's not in high demand - I wouldn't want to potentially take a spot that could be used by someone who hasn't attended before.

and hopefully everyone who came found it useful/helpful/interesting.
As one of the attendees last week, all of the above! I would recommend it to those who have an interest.

I am aiming this one at beginners, however we do also run workshops for people who have already attended.

If/when income from the forum's ticketing site and advertising increases, then we can run more of these events :)
