Fares towards Amersham

This is just a check, really. Am I correct in saying that going out of London towards Amersham the fares are entirely from the TfL zonal scheme, including whether any Chiltern services are used? So, for example, if I wanted to go from Liverpool Street to Uxbridge, using Oyster for argument's sake, I could get a direct train or get the Met from Liverpool St to Baker St, walk to Marylebone, get a train to Harrow-on-the-Hill and then the Met to Uxbridge, in both cases just paying for the zones?

I realise that in other parts of the zones the national rail fares can be different from the underground fares but I understand that not to be the case on that line. Thanks for any clarification you can provide.

You would be better off staying on your metropolitan line train at baker street than walking to marylebone and changing at harrow on the hill but yes there is full interavailability with fares from either baker street or Marylebone a london terminals ticket from Amersham is valid to both Marylebone and Baker Street too

Yup a single with Oyster or Contactless from London Marylebone to Amersham is £4.10 off peak / £7 peak. Same price from Baker Street, same price from Aldgate etc etc.

You wouldn't get a "London Terminals" ticket from Amersham just a generic zone 1 ticket which would, as you say, include Chiltern services to Marylebone.

If you bought a paper ticket from Amersham to London Marylebone that would be less flexible and cost £8.50 for a single or £17 return

For completeness a Zones 1-9 Travelcard also covers the journey, along with many others like trips to Brentwood, Bushey, Dartford or Swanley and is £22.90 Anytime and £13.60 Off-Peak (valid any train from 0930).

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I appreciate that just getting one train is quicker and easier but I really just wanted to check the interavailability was comprehensive, should that ever prove to be useful.

Incidentally I notice that the cheapest return ticket from Amersham to Swanley is a CDR for £20.20, which is much more expensive than a 1-9 Off-Peak Day Travelcard.
