The onboard announcements on London Tramlink still refer to "national rail tickets with an origin or destination Tramlink" (wording may be slightly wrong).

As far as I know "Tramlink" is no longer available as a National Rail destination - can anyone confirm this please?

Various fares certainly do still exist from various origins just outside the South edge of Zone 6 to Tramlink. They all seemed to be removed a couple of years ago but I've since found they've returned. It can give you a bit of a jolt when checking tickets as there's no special roundel or marking.

Use of these fares from origins in the zones or North of London has always seemed very sketchy, possibly due to cross-London routing issues.

As far as I know, little or no financial advantage is gained by using these instead of paper + Oyster or just Oyster. I think the main point is to allow a single or return through journey on one ticket medium without using paper (from outside the zones) + Oyster at the same price.

Yes, I thought they'd been removed, but I'm getting quite a few just randomly trying on brfares.

It's hard to understand the criteria for a Tramlink fare existing - for example, there are fares for Clapham Junction, Vauxhall and London Terminals, but not from Elephant and Castle, yet there are fares from Herne Hill and Tulse Hill.
