Howdy y'all!

I've been drafted in to referee a rather massive football competition in Gerona (Costa Brava) in a few weeks.

I need to be in Gerona by 3pm on Sunday 27th
As my Traveller membership will have come through by then (I hope) I should be able to travel on Virgin's rail network for free. I'm after a flight for as little as possible, arriving in Gerona by then!

Otherwise, I can arrive in Barcelona and take a train - but I've no idea how long this takes!

Your help as always, is invaluable!

As a long standing Ryanair passenger, I'll add that other charges might will almost certainly apply to the above. Common ones in particular are:
  • Checked baggage fee - GBP 10.00 per bag
(Does not increase the 15Kg weight limit per pax on hold baggage.)
  • Credit/Debit card processing fee of roughly GBP 5.00 - GBP 9.99.
(Generally has to be paid, as only one type of card is handled for "free"...Normally an unheard of e-debit card of some description. The "free" card is changed every so often, too.)
  • Beware of the booking form: It pre-selects Ryanair's travel insurance scheme for each passenger by default. If ye aren't going to use it, make sure it's taken off the booking!
Additionally, all of the above charges are levied per passenger, per sector. So on a return flight for thyself with one checked bag, ye'd pay a total of GBP 20.00 in baggage fees and GBP 10.00 - GBP 19.98 in booking fees on top of the above...Which inflates the real cost of the flight to GBP 56.99 - GBP 66.97! :!:

Don't get me wrong; Ryanair are an ace airline in my book...But when it comes to sales practices and hidden charges etc, Ryanair practice what even the worst 20% of eBay traders would avoid! Caveat Emptor all the way... <D
Oh, and before anyone asks: My current web box (Linux) has a U.S. keyboard on it, hence my recent lack of Pound signs... :)

Surely you could just change the keyboard settings, or can you not do that in the marvellous Linux? You certainly can in Windows.
