Fare Advice for Commuting

I have a new job in Bermondsey and have the option of

1) Leaving from Northolt Park and take Chiltern line, Bakerloo to Baker street and then Jubilee to Bermondsey

2) Met / Chiltern line from Harrow on the Hill
3) Chiltern Line from Sudbury Hill Harrow
4) Central Line from Northolt.

I need to be at work for 9 AM and was wondering what would be the best value for money. Can you get a season ticket from Northolt Park to MYB and then zone 1,2 PAYG, or daily PAYG, or Zone 1-5 Season Ticket.

I have a YP railcard that expires in November.

Prices are given as annual tickets for comparison's sake - you may find it better to buy tickets for shorter periods of time to avoid paying for holiday time.

* You can get a Northolt Park - London Terminals season ticket but it's £1,596.00 + Zone 1-2 Travelcard at £1,284
* By contrast, a Zone 1-5 Travelcard is £2,188
* A Zone 1-4 Travelcard is £1,844 and may be worth considering depending on how closely you live to the nearby Zone 4 stations (Sudbury Hill, Northwich Park, Greenford)

Time-wise, the fastest option is Met+Jubliee from Harrow-on-the-Hill, changing at Finchley Road, at ~35 minutes. Options via the Chiltern Line are longer and less frequent: ~45 minutes and restrict you to the 07:24 or 07:54 from Northolt Park. Central + Jubilee from Northolt is 40-45 minutes, so may be quicker for you depending on walking distance compared to Harrow-on-the-Hill.

Nortwich Park may be worth considering depending on travel time from your home - you're on the 'stoppers' for the Metropolitan Line so journey time is a minute or two longer than from H-o-t-H, but of course you're in Zone 4.

To be honest with you I would go with the 1-5 as this will obviously give you flexibility to move around in town as you will end up paying for staying out and such in town. I cant really see if anything is going to be cheaper over the year if Im honest

And if you buy a monthly or annual z1-4/5 travelcard it is worth buying from a Chiltern ticket office (Marylebone/Northolt Park) as Chiltern offer free weekend travel a cross their services on seasons over a certain amount provided they are valid on their network
