Can someone tell me what is going on at Shipley?

We've just been told to get off the train on platform four as there's two broken down trains at Bradford Foster Square?

Conductor tells us to go to Platform five, where for the last 30 minutes about 150 people have waited for a train which has just been cancelled?

Adverse weather conditions aside, Northern are not handling this well with miscommunication between all facets of their staff force.

Hmm I don't think TRUST or whatever are updating things very well at the moment. Apparently that train has arrived on time in Bradford but is not showing in a Bradford berth. Several other anomalies are also apparent.

For instance 2D68 Bradford Forster Square to Ilkley seems route cleared from Frizinghall to Baildon via Shipley platform 3. It appears to be being held at sig 3976 outside Shipley station. Now whether this is so....I can only see things via the normally wonderful train apps/websites....

I think possibly NR are concentrating on getting thing going safely rather than releasing data.

the data feed is completely down at the moment. That usually only lasts a minute or two, but how long to fix itself today is anyone's guess

Only one member of staff at Shipley station doesn't help. I feel sorry for the gentleman who has a lot of irate passengers to deal with.

We got turfed off the Bradford Forster Square train on platform with no explanation other than the train was now going to Skipton and had to go to Platform five for the 16.58 to Bradford .

Update another train has arrived in platform four and the same is happening again.

A train full of passengers is being told to go to platform five for the late running 17.30 to Bradford Forster Square which is showing 33 minutes late.

Wonderful.

How long before the platform is closed due to many people making it unsafe?

Shipley is a big triangular station but the main booking office is packed.

Nothing appears to be moving in or out of Forster Square or heading to Leeds, looking at the National Rail departure boards.

I'd ring a taxi but the roads are covered in snow.

Suspect it will be a long evening for what should have been a 27 minute journey.

I don’t know how bad the snow is in Shipley/Bradford but may be worth checking the buses, that’s how I ended up getting to Leeds this morning from Castleford anyway!

17.55 to Bradford has now been cancelled.

I think it's a walk to the bus station and hopefully the 675 is running.

Operation bus it is mate.

What's really disappointing is Northern's lack of communication.

The main roads are still clear so buses should still be running from Shipley Market Square.

One failed between Braidford and Shipley, then the one sent to rescue it also failed en route from
Skipton. I'm afraid the guys on the ground simply won't know when a service can be restored, although that doesn't excuse not saying anything.
