Again, where have I said we should blame all migrants?

You came here suggesting you weren't able to talk about the issue of migrants harassing women, which now seems to be a few of them playing loud music.

Again, why are you linking assaults and anti-social behaviour to migrants? Its an issue with all groups, not just migrants, so I’m not sure why the protests are not targeting all communities in the UK rather than just migrant communities.

I have seen it, I assure you. I could share FB posts but don't think that would be wise.
Why not? What harm could it do? I'm sure nothing in them could contravene the rules of this site, if they're just from people who were at the protests, but actually behaving themselves, and asking for sense and mercy to be shown to asylum seekers, that their claims be processed under the law, and for them to receive proper housing.

Oh I think we both know why.

Why would that be a different subject?
Because they had nothing to do with the riots. A peaceful protest was arranged and it was spoiled by far-right EDL thugs. Those protesting peacefully shouldn't be tarred with the same brush as the rioters.

That seems slightly naïve at best.

The "peaceful" protest that "those protesting peacefully" at seemed to degenerate into an attempted lynching. Obviously done peacefully by decent peaceful people.

There was a baying crowd egging people on to smash the place up or burn the hotel down and kill those inside. Those charged aren't off comers. They were "peaceful" locals.

No, it seems entirely reasonable. Just as we can't label all the BLM protesters as rioters, we can't do the same to those peacefully protesting.

what's BLM (?) got to do with anything? Why are you making excuses for criminals - it smacks of whataboutery.

I maintain your view is at best naïve. I suspect you are wilfully looking for excuses. Many of the protests were advertised on Facebook as peaceful. We all know the intent was otherwise. The people arranging them knew that also. it was a way to try and avoid responsibility for what they knew would come. The one in Middlesbrough is a prime example.

It's an example of a protest being spoiled by rioters. The man who called for the protest local to me made it quite clear on social media and the news that he intended the protest to be peaceful and called for thugs to stay away.

Exactly the same as Middlesbrough. Turned out the guy asking for "peaceful" protest had a bit of a fruity past involving anything but.

That is one of many, if you want to view more perhaps you could look?

Saying 200 males of fighting age under 30 and talking of women needing rape whistles really does sound like someone not wanting to create a fuss. That almost makes me want to go out and buy a pitch fork.

Couldn't you have found a better link to support your view?

It wasn't exactly unbiased interviewing either.

As I have said several times, it's all good and well rejecting their concerns when you don't live amongst it. The facts are there weren't any female migrants housed there, it was all young males and it's well known they have been causing problems. The locals have a right to speak out in my opinion. And I'm not entirely blaming the migrants either, I imagine it's not healthy being locked up in a hotel all day & night.

For sure, everyone has their agendas and clearly the Facebook algorithm is pushing this stuff to certain people who engage with it and presumably have their friends and family sharing and liking it to get more of it.

In a war scenario, everyone is of fighting age so that's just dog whistling and I'd question whether there's a clear link to there being more rapes commited by asylum seekers, versus say an EDL member that's mates of Tommy multi names.

And they can do that. Just not try and burn them alive, while claiming the moral high ground.

Where are the females and children housed out of interest? Don't say there aren't any and it's only men because that's patently untrue as you can see from videos showing the boats.

Do your mates know everyone in these hotels personally?

And that's what they did, until it was spoiled by thugs that later arrived. What can those peacefully protesting do about that? It's not their fault is it?

I don't know, but they were no longer down at Manvers, do you have any evidence that this particular hotel housed women & children?

You don't think that the chosen timing for their protest might have rather invited that to happen? Perhaps in view of what was happening elsewhere they might have reconsidered protesting at that time.

I'm not sure, is there a recommended timeline for protests? I'm sure with hindsight if the peaceful protestors knew this they would have adjusted accordingly?

I'm not picking out one individual hotel but the common trope is that it's only men coming here. That isn't true. People still keep saying it because they want others to think they're only here to commit crime, rape or kill native white English people.

This is despite most asylum claims being successful and people going on to work and pay taxes, doing jobs that for whatever reason native English people don't want to do.

I single out England because it's almost always English nationalists and so won't really occur in Scotland or Wales. Indeed I suspect the EDL and the like aren't big fans of the rest of the UK either.

Rather than wave your pitchforks outside a hotel and almost certainly be stunned when it gets out of control as people say they're here to fight us, rape and steal, and it gets people outraged, go and protest the Government for not processing claims quicker so they can either get a job or be deported.

That may true of the mindset of right- wing racists but for this particular hotel locals have been concerned about the behaviour of the male asylum seekers housed there.

I don't necessarily agree with your claim about most successful claimants going on to work and pay taxes, the stats say that successful
asylum seekers are less likely to go in to work than the native population and economic migrants.

I have concerns but I wouldn't be protesting peacefully or not outside a hotel full of asylum seekers and listening to peaceful people talking of fighting age, rape, crime, terrorism, not integrating, not being Christians etc.

There's no way everyone is going to stay calm after that.

I'd direct my concerns to my MP, the Government, Home Office and/or police as appropriate.

Can you share a link as I wasn't aware of that. I'm perhaps unduly cynical because I'm always told that asylum seekers are given homes, cars and iPhones too.

"As a result, refugees in the UK are 4 times more likely to be unemployed than people born here, and on average earn about half the amount per week that UK nationals do."

Hope this helps.

So basically they're often skilled workers and are often discriminated against and paid less as a result.

I realise it's a bit more nuanced than that, but ultimately it's not quite what it seems.

So why aren't people protesting about that and insisting on better training and help for the ones disadvantaged? We used to be a nation that cared about people and didn't want to burn them at the Travelodge stakes.

Why, because of reality? Our government can't even look after our own pensioners let alone career training and campaigns to help refugee employment issues. So, what we have is thousands of new people each year having to rely on the state, a state that's in ruin, it's complete lunacy.

So what is your suggestion for a solution then?

So we've apparently given up on asylum seekers and pensioners getting any help, so will stand outside a hotel having a peaceful candlelit vigil that somehow leads to shouting and threatening to set buildings and police on fire?

Stop accepting asylum claims until we sort out the mess we are in?

That's sometimes the unfortunate outcome with protests, this is an example, so was the BLM protests.

What is your solution?
