Family Railcard

Hi,

Heading to Cornwall in the summer. Am I able to use a Family Railcard to purchase 1st Advance tickets? Travelling from Stevenage so presumably these tickets are priced by FGW. Tried online but the kids were 50% and not £1.

no family railcard discounts on any first class tickets that i'm aware of. i'd be surprised if there are any exceptions...

There are very minimal exceptions.

The FRPP states that the following 1st class fares can be obtained using a Family & Friends Railcard:

  • EFS & EFR - First Open Single and First Open Return fares purchased to London International.*
  • VBR - 1st Class Virgin Business Return.
  • FOS & FOR - First Anytime Single and First Anytime Return on Route 345: Caledonian Sleeper.

*Before anyone says anything, yes these fares are still listed as "First Open" and have not yet reverted to "First Anytime".
