I don't know about any of you guys, but I absolutely love the above program, to the point where I have in the past stayed up to 3 or 4 in the morning watching it. Someone plase agree with me that it is awesome!

It is an awesome show. Much better than The Simpsons I think. Who is your favourite character? Mine is a bit of a toss-up between Stewie and Brian. I think Stewie just about edges it for me.

Been watching it for years and was gutted when they cancelled it. So glad that someone saw sense to re-commission it.

Carl or Seamus here - the occasional ones are always funnier. Unfortunately, the new series is poor compared to the older ones...

I suppose that I am far too old to be watching this, but I think that the storylines are well produced...if you can follow them. The relationship between Stewie and Brian merges well. Having a talking bipedal dog was a stroke of genius and Brian comes across as somewhat of a philosopher.

I wonder where Stewie got his non-American accent from, but it adds to his evil little plans which he seems to have quite often. How did he get a head that shape?.....no wonder he is not keen on Lois and secretly blames her for this "football" shape. I note that the forum member Rich uses him as his avatar.

The show was nominated for 12 Primetime Emmy awards and won three of these. They must have a good sciptwriting and production team.

Special last note for MattE2010, the voiceover for Meg Griffin is done by Mile Kunis. If you get chance to see her picture, your feelings for Laura Robson will be strained

Been watching series 1-8 pretty much constantly the last few days. Never fails to make me laugh.

There are signs of cracks appearing, much like The Simpsons post series-9 where the characters seem to slide into one-dimensionality after maturing for so long. It happened to Ned Flanders, who was a Christian nice guy, and he just went out and out religious zealot and not much else in later series. Stewie seems to be going the same way; originally hell bent on world domination, murdering Lois and being an evil genius, his occasional lapses into sexual mystery were amusing. Now sometimes the whole joke seems to be that he's a gay baby.

On the whole though, still got it! Just please hang onto it!

Who is your favourite character?

There are a few I really like, Quagmire is one of them - despite being a blatant sexual predator he cracks me up. Frankie Boyle's replacement on Mock The week even dresses like him . The peculiar foreign guy who is always interrupted while he is trying to bone his girlfriend is hilarious as well.

Incidentally, does anyone know when the 3rd instalment of the Star Wars parody is to be screened in the UK? I could just buy the DVD I know, but I'd rather see it for free :roll:

It's a good show, but not as good as The Simpsons, which IMO, manages to be so much more spot-on about American society and culture than an...American.

Indeed, same with me. I can stand up to Season 10 but after that it is poor, maybe like OF&H it should have ended whilst it was still funny.

Especially with Quagmire! Remember how he keeps looking so young when he's in fact 64! (It involves a carrot...)

The Simpsons, pre-season 8, is without a doubt the best animated comedy series ever made. It was funny, intelligent, well written, with awesome characters and fantastic storylines. The rot started setting in after that, and by series 10 it was clearly on it's way out. The writing just never felt as good, or as witty. The characters became one dimensional, and the plots became reliant on placing the family in wacky situations and meaningless celebrity cameos.

I don't often watch it, but it's quite amusing. I tend to find some episodes are not funny at all, and some have quite a few good sections.

I don't get some of the jokes though, particularly those which relate to American "celebrities."

Yeah i still like family guy but it has gone off the boil the last 2 seasons somewhat.. Still watch South park too which can be excellent one week then poior the next. Though theres a few gems in season 15.

Simpsons still rocks it though - no matter how cack some of the newer ones are.

Personally I think the new simpsons episodes are good, but mainly because i've not seen them before. Currently I think family guy (and the other ones) However I think Futurama's new series could ace those

He reminds me of Batman, after all Adam West who voices Mayor West played Batman in the 60's TV show. Isn't Mayor West based on Batman somewhat?

I like Futurama as much as Family Guy but not as much a The Simpsons.

For me its a tough call between Family Guy or Simpsons, both funny but The Simpsons has better storylines.
