Well its only taken 31 years but at last I am famous (OK an over statement). Got a copy of Traction this month and noticed a photo feature on the man of Kent railtour (everyone must remember that, wasnt to long ago) back in 78. Well the old grey cells started working as I was on that tour. Looking at the pictures in traction and yes there I am a dazilingly handsome young man (aint changed). Now I am not going to say which photo it is, but if Dougie or Robin (long lost rail friends) are reading this you will know which picture we are in.
Have to say it was one of the best railtours of its time as it also included class 73 haulage if my memory is correct the 73 took it to littlehampton and also a trip on the sittingbourne and Kemsley which was very inteteresting, the rest is a blur , but strangley enough for me at the time I stayed sobber throughout. Those were the days, good music, great style and godd beer at reasonable prices. OK I am wearing rose tinted specs, but bring back the 70's anyday for me they were the greatest, railway and non railway.
