I booked Advance First Class tickets for 2 people on the above journey with LNER to travel on the 10:48 from Falkirk Grahamston to Kings Cross and onwards from St Pancras to Leagrave on the 16:21 Thameslink.
I was somewhat alarmed to receive a notification and email this morning that due to a change of timetable that my selected journey has been cancelled. The email contained a link to enable me to either amend the journey free of charge or get a refund. When I selected the option to amend the journey all options for 5th December were shown as 'Not Available'. This was also the case for preceding and following days of that week. However, on the National Rail App, the trains are shown as running normally and, indeed, if I simply look on the LNER website the trains are also shown as operating.
I telephoned LNER this morning and was told something about bookings being temporarily suspended in connection with the industrial action and then permitted again but as a result of a technical issue many bookings were inadvertently cancelled. I've had no further communication from LNER and I'm still unable to amend the journey.
Should I simply turn up at the station and board the train? Or would it be safer to obtain a refund and fly?
I should also mention that I have a separate booking for the return journey on Friday 8th but have not received any email or notification about that.
I'd be grateful for any advice from any of the mavens on the forum.
