Fairwater - Heath High Level

Hey, I think i have understood the terms on East Coasts website, but If the website says, 'break of journey is permitted,' it is okay to buy a Fairwater - Heath High Level return ticket. Then to alight at Cardiff Central on the out leg, then continue later in the day to Heath High Level.
On the return leg I would go to Queen St and finish the journey there, rather than going all the way back to Fairwater. As how I understand this is the cheapest option with my YP railcard

Yes that is perfectly valid:

Break of journey
You may start, break and resume, or end your journey at any intermediate station along the route of travel.

Break of journey for an overnight stay is allowed. Where a journey continues into the next day, travel must resume before 1200 and no further break of journey is allowed except to change trains.

The return part of Anytime Return tickets can be used for travel on any train within one calendar month of the outward journey. Travel is allowed until 0230 on the day following the last day of validity. If you are still travelling at 0230 then you may stay on the train to complete that part of the journey, but no further break of journey is allowed and all travel must be completed by 1200.

Sorry I should specify that is for an anytime return only which is the only return available between Fairwater and Heath High Level.

Yes, I quite often get tickets that have validity beyond what I actually use and start or finish 'short', and break my journey, this is quite often the case on our cycling trips for example.
