Let's hope it's wasn't 401 which is on temporary loan. The damage does make me wonder whether this unit will be withdrawn now.

I have to say that the information at Liverpool Street, (I arrived back there at around 15:00, 6 hours after the incident), was pretty rubbish. All the Main Line trains were shown as cancelled. There were no special messages advising what the problem was, they simply scrolled around the normal this 'station is operated by NR and the train operators are.... and the standard security messages'. There were no announcements other than simply advising of cancellations and the reason given was a broken down train (which had happened 6 hours earlier!) I knew what was going on, as I'd been caught coming up to town and had been keeping an eye on all the 'unofficial' means of communication. I caught the late running 15:18 which was shown as cancelled, then running, then only running to Chelmsford, then disappeared off of the board and departed pretty empty (at least up the front) about 10 mins after boarding.
