Failed medical nwr

Hi all looking do a bit of advice .

I had a medical for a operative positon at network rail .
I failed the medical hearing and eye sight.

Eye sight i been told to go to get my eye sight tested and a form to hand in. I will need glasses so thats not an issues

With the hearing i got issues in my right ear and i think she said that it is at level 3 (what ever that means)
The test where carried out but i could hear all sorts of outside noise including two trains that passed.

She said to go to my doctors and i would be booked in for a re test in two weeks.
She said there is a bit of earwax in my ear when she looked.

What would happen if i still Dont pass the hearing test ? Is that game over.
Gutted as i really wanted the job.

If you failed because of hearing it would have been helpful to have asked for more information at the time. That is a big deal and worthy of clarification. And not asking or gaining an understanding of what 'Level 3' means is a bit odd? How can you know if there is anything you can do? That was your chance to ask rather than here on the forum. If you don't pass the medical then yes you're not passed as fit for the role and your offer would be sadly revoked. I'd contact the medical centre and ask 'whatever that means' as soon as possible otherwise a retest is pointless if you see your doctor with a blank look not knowing what to say.

Level 3 could mean Category 3 which means Poor Hearing. Category 1 is Acceptable Hearing. As above though you really need to clarify with them what exactly the issue was. They should have provided you with a copy of your hearing test to take to your doctors, if they didn't ask for one.
