Failed final conductor test

Hi
My husband has failed his final conductor test today.
He has done well in his 12 weeks training leading up to this and all his tutor and minder feedback has been brilliant.
He passed the 100 question test todaywith a pass of 91% but the feedback on the rest of the assessment was a fail.
He was incredibly nervous and his mind went blank on many of the questions
The assesor has said he cannot confirm what will happen next because he needs to speak to HR and he won't be able to speak to my husband until Monday / Tuesday next week. In the meantime he's told my husband to go out with a minder Thursday and Friday - awful not knowing for sure.
We are left in limbo and really don't know what is going on..... is it the end or will everything be taken into consideration and then the final decision made?
Has this happened to anyone else?

I assume what you are saying is he has passed the paper test but failed the practical?

Its highly unlikely at this stage he will loose his job. The most likely outcome will be he will get more training that'll focus on what he struggled with. He would have to mess up pretty bad to loose his job. When people cannot hack a certain grade they tend to get redeployed elsewhere in the company.

Yes he passed the paper test, 100 questions at 91%, pass rate has to be 85%
Nerves just crippled him on the practical but all practical work on his 12 weeks prior to this has been great and the feedback from his trainers and minders really good. We hope and pray they will offer more training
