The print on my Network Railcard is fading, particularly the date, which is particularly tiresome as I've taken good care of it and it lives in a plastic ticket wallet in a drawer most of the time rather than my wallet.

I assume if I take it back to the ticket office where it was issued I can get a reprint... what about other ticket offices of the same TOC... and other ticket offices of a different TOC?

Do I need the receipt? I've got it somewhere, but I'm not quite sure where.

When I renew I expect I'll order one online as they are issued as plastic cards - no fading print (one hopes) and can be kept permanently in a wallet without worrying about it getting dog-eared. Either that or get it as a digital railcard on my phone (no fading print, though the possibility of self-inflicted fading battery instead!).

A couple of years ago a helpful GTR RPI was able (after several attempts) to read the mag-stripe of my completely faded NSE card and she endorsed it with the correct expiry date.

Oddly, my current paper NSE ( which lives in the same tricky environment as all the previous one ) has survived completely intact with no fading at month 12 - I don't think that's ever happened before.

If the Railcard is still legible you do not need the receipt to get it reprinted.

I've had this happen a couple of times and had it reissued for free at the original ticket office. My current one has a strip of sellotape over the date, placed there by the issuing office

I've found they'll renew it at any ticket office in the NSE area, free of charge.

Plastic ones can still transfer print onto the wallet and off the Railcard itself, but they should be more durable than station issued ones.

I have a photo of myself permanently imprinted on my ticket wallet as a result of such a transfer.

Don't ask us do it outside the Network Area as we don't have the stock to print it....,,,given the number of times I've seen people try to use a Network Card in Mid Wales no doubt the day will come when someone asks us to reprint a Network Card.
