Thank you, but if it is in the thousands … do you think I should look into loans ? X I’ve been building up my credit score , so I’m hopping I could get pre approved for some? I know my mom and her partner could help me , but again, it’s that awkwardness and fear x
We’ll have you calculated the sum using your ticket buying records checking for every occasion you used the wrong Railcard?

Yes, I have calculated it roughly and without any admin fees, it’s about £2,100 I believe? But that’s me over estimating vs under estimating

To turn back to this, yes you do need to look into options for payment of what they might ask for (especially if you think there is a risk to your job if it went to prosecution) - so this could be legitimate loans or maybe credit card options - but do not be tempted to go to any sort of dubious money lender.

It is possible that if the sum is large they may consider some payment over a small number of installments, but for what we see on here railway companies do not typically do this because they do not have the systems or people in place to manage collection of debts like that - so you should not rely on that option, but there may be an opportunity to at least ask them.

Unauthorised money lenders or 'loan sharks' basically - under no circumstances at all have any dealing with such people. Make sure you only deal with FCA authorised lenders - see below link for advice on this

see this info here

A money lender has to be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to lend money legally. Money lenders who aren’t authorised by the FCA are breaking the law. They are known as loan sharks.

Loan sharks often work from home, charge very high rates of interest and don't give you much paperwork to confirm the arrangements they've made with you. A loan shark usually has lots of customers and lends money like a business, but their lending is illegal.

Loan sharks often take other illegal action to collect the money they've lent you, such as threatening violence or taking away your credit cards or valuables.

Thank you … x I am going to make sure I only deal with legit companies. I am thinking of looking at my options through Experian … x I’m thinking of maybe calling my mom and telling her that if she can help I’d be grateful but alternatively I have other options? I don’t know …

Is this the address I should use when I post it?X

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

It’s the address on the letter

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

And just to double check , I shouldn’t fill out anything by hand under this section : seeing as I’ve already emailed? All I should do is print out my email , put “as sent via email on x y z date” on the piece of paper with the email, enclose it within the envelope and return southeasterns original letter signed? So enclose both of those ? x and post it to that address ( the Ashford one?)

Yes - that looks correct

If you are also returning their original letter with this in the envelope then you should also fill the parts in on that original letter too as they request. Also write on that original letter "see enclosed / attached copy of e-mail sent on xx date" - this will help make it all clear to whoever opens your letter at their office and make sure things don't get separated.

also make sure your name and address is written somewhere on each page

Before you seal it in the envelope take a picture of each page you are sending them for your records

Yes.
What sort of parts? x like where they ask for my name , etc ?
And under the comments box should I just let them know to refer to my letter ?

I still haven’t heard from them … x I wrote Monday … hopefully they will reply ?
It may be some time before you get a response - a few weeks even at the least. They will have a small team of staff dealing with a lot of instances of this sort of thing.

If you look for other threads involving south eastern you may get an idea of how quickly they replied to people.

Ah, okay… So it’s standard for them to take a few weeks even? x they said in their acknowledgment email to allow up to 10 days …

It can be. But you've not even had the 10 days as yet.
I know … ugh, I hate that I’m stressing so much

Yes that’s right. Best thing to do now is to put it out if your mind for a bit and get on with other things. Hard to do I know but best if you can try.

So basically like an acknowledgment email ? They already sent me an automatic one to be fair , but I guess this is a follow up … I’m so nervous :(

I'd say it's pretty standard. Certainly nothing to be particularly worried about.

Please start your own thread if you would like advice in your situation, as two circumstances are very rarely exactly the same in our experience.

We’ll be happy to provide assistance, but if you look at the pinned thread at the top of the board it will set out all the information we need to provide the best advice possible.

Hey, they haven’t replied to me yet, they just sent me an email telling me my case is under review … x as soon as I get a reply I will let you know d

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Still nothing , and I sent them my reply over a week ago! :( The waiting is honestly the worst part as it’s giving me all of this time to overthink and catastrophise !!! Trying to put it to the back of my mind for now but then it creeps back up and I start panicking !

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

I guess they do have lots of cases to go through and they’re probably a relatively small team so perhaps that’s why they can’t just reply to me immediately?

Stop panicking. They will have a lot of work on and there is nothing you can do in the meantime to expedite things. Get on with your life as normal until you hear something from them.

I sympathise with you. But I suspect they are just processing cases as they can. It is likely in your case that they are probably checking your previous travel records / wating for those records to be supplied by somewhere like Trainline as the ticket retailer.

I don't think you should be unduly concerned about that in terms of being unable to obtain an out of court settlement.

Thank you x Still nothing :( You’re right, these things take time

They sent this a week ago … nothing since what does that even mean ? I’m thinking maybe it has to do with my valid railcard that they’re trying to get proof for but I don’t know !
