Not very thrilling! Something must done about that engineering genius, Adrian Newey. His cars nearly always dominate the sport

Red Bull are certainly the package deal at the moment. Still, Mclaren thought they had a bad car, but with Lewis finishing second today, it may turn out to be a good season after all!

I hope Ferrari pull it out of the bag as well, but I'm not confident.

DSR was a complete waste of time
The first overtake would probably have taken place with a fixed rear wing anyway
Placing only one location for its use during the race was pointless, it would be more beneficial where this is a high differential of speed
However, I can see it being more of a benefit at some of the low speed circuits (depending on where on the circuit they place the permitted zone)

KERS was also partially pointless
All cars have to be fitted, but you don't have to use it
This should be returned to a declared option; fitted and used, or not fitted
Again, this returns a greater differential
Ironically, Red Bull weren't using it, so could have removed it and their lead would not doubt be greater and the result probably different (Webber benefiting)

Overtaking would return if they got rid of the wings and made the tyres very wide like they had in the early 1990's. You have to to get rid of the aerodynamics (and the wings in particular) and increase mechanical grip from the tyres and suspension.

Petrov was excellent! He had some good performances last year too. I think if he continues to drive like he is then he'll certainly have a bright career ahead of him. It's also nice to see good old Renault doing well. It's about time they had some more success.

You have to be level or in front of the vehicle you are passing, otherwise you MUST yield the racing line
The correct thing to have done, after leaving the track, was to allow Massa to pass, but that all went pear shape when Alonso passed Massa, and confounded when Ferrari then pitted
Penalty was the only outcome

Just seen it; late again :roll: Should be the last time though.

Wasn't the most spectacular race, especially by Melbourne standards (16 finishers? That must be a record!), but it wasn't as bad the likes of Bahrain last year or Monaco in the sun. Well done to Petrov on a well-deserved 3rd, and more misery for the one driver I do not like (clue: he grew up in Spain but lives near Oxford). And Vettel barely seemed bothered all day! It was just like he was driving casually throughout, as though he on the M25 almost.

Anyone know why the Saubers seem to be have disqualified? Disappointing for Perez after a pretty decent race. And on the subject of penalties, Button didn't have a case. Even if his nose was slightly ahead of Massa's by the time he went off, he was behind going into 11.

So much for my tip, eh?

I'm not particuarly keen on Jenson Button. I'd rather Hamilton won the title.
