F&F Card and turning 16

All,

The Situation :-
3 Year F&F Card purchased October 2014 expires October 2017.

My daughter turned 16 on the 14th July 2015.

From my understanding we are still entitled to the discount until the day before her 17th Birthday [13th July 2016]

So when I book the tickets from Stowmarket to Eridge (For the Spa Valley Diesel Gala) I can still book 1xchild F&F, 1xadult F&F ?

Just want to ensure I've read and understood the situation correctly.

This is what the terms & conditions say:

Children aged under 16 at the time that the Railcard is purchased may still travel at the discounted child’s fare throughout the validity period of the 1-year Railcard, even if they become 16 years old during that time or, for a 3-year Railcard until the child turns 17.

So far as relevant, this to my mind says: " Your daughter (who was aged under 16 at the time the 3-year Railcard was purchased) may still travel at the discounted child's fare ... until she turns 17."

Personally, I interpret the terms in the same way as you do.

Agreed but she is only a child when using the F+F railcard, when travelling alone (or not using the F+F railcard) she will need to buy adult tickets.

Agreed, as all the other restrictions for travelling at the discounted child's fare still apply.

I also gave the Rail-Card people a call who confirmed the same.

I've copied the page of the T&C's and stuck it in my handbag just in case! But yes, providing she is travelling with me then until her 17th she can travel as a child.
