Exploring Chiltern Railways

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with what is the best way to explore the London end of the Chiltern Railways patch please? As there is no rover covering this area.

I am looking at staying in High Wycombe and I also have priv discount.

Any help would be most grateful - Many Thanks.

In that case, I'd have thought a High Wycombe - Aylesbury SDS and an Aylesbury - London SDR would be a good combination to allow a circular route from High Wycombe - Aylesbury - London - High Wycombe.

Are the Class 67s running this week? Free use of the Business Zone in the late morning train is a good way to explore.

If you buy an Aylesbury - London Priv SDR it will cover you for a round trip taking in both the "Met" and the "Joint" lines.

Denham Golf Club would be worth a visit if you want to see the last surviving GWR "pagodas" on the network, although you might be marooned there for quite a while.

Stoke Mandeville is probably the most pleasing of the Chiltern "Met" stations.

Good little cafe at Princes Risborough station.

121 not running until after festive season.

Are you asking whether an Aylesbury-London SDR is valid via Princes Risborough and West Ruislip? I'll defer this to someone more knowledgable of this route.

If you buy an Aylesbury - London Priv SDR it will cover you for a round trip taking in both the "Met" and the "Joint" lines.

The OP plans to stay in High Wycombe. He cannot do a round trip starting and finishing at High Wycombe on this ticket. An additional single is needed either at the beginning or the end depending on which direction the round trip is done.

Technically you are not permitted to travel into Paddington on an Aylesbury ticket as no easement is specifically worded to cover this scenario, however a Princes Risborough - London Terminals ticket for the same price is valid via Aylesbury (Easement 30039) and valid into Paddington (satisfying the 3-mile rule).

Both sets were in service at MYB this morning. Not sure what times in the amended tt though.

I think the 0619 from BMS and the 0837 from MYB was one set.

Worst case, Denham Golf Club to Denham is probably ~15 mins walk, along a pleasant bridlepath and residential road.

Don't think an easment is needed for services TO Paddington as there aren't any.
