Thank you for your help in seeking authority from your manager, I appreciate it greatly. I am willing to accept your offer of £278 on the condition that this is in full and final settlement of this matter with no further action or prejudice. I will make this payment immediately after confirmation of the above.
As stated above (with regard to asking if they would be passing your details on), you seem to be pushing your luck here. Just leave that line out. If I were receiving that and reading it I would be looking very closely at what was between the lines of it. My advice is to stick to the first part of that message and to pay the offer immediately.

You just replace the words in bold with 'in full and final settlement'. That's all. It's a standard phrase. (A lawyer might suggest some further words to clarify that "full" includes the matters they later dropped, but I think that's clearly implied, especially as they didn't remove them "without prejudice"). Neither you nor they have any control over what other train companies might do in future, but if you were contacted you'd be able to quote back at them what GWR said to you. As others say, it seems unlikely to happen given the amount of current offending they are all busy dealing with.

Which is simply that they are not claiming for anything not involving GWR. There is nothing on their communication that says that those matters are closed, or could be read to suggest that.

Would any journeys on other TOCs not be out of time (i.e. more than 6 months old) for legal action? Therefore, the other TOCs could ask you for an Out of Court settlement, but they effectively have no teeth.

I too agree with just putting in full and final settlement. After 6 years no other TOC will be able to bring a civil claim.

Also do not ask if they will pass your details to any other TOCs. Don't want to give them ideas. As always do keep hold of all correspondence including proof (screen shot/bank statement) that you have paid.

Also, did the latest communication from them include the phrase "without prejudice"?

especially as they didn't remove them "without prejudice")
These points are irrelevant and wrong in law. The communication from GWR with the £278 settlement offer constitutes without prejudice correspondence even if that particular phrase is not mentioned.

I need urgent advice regarding a letter I have received from Revenue Recovery Team at GWR.

February 2024, I was stopped by a ticket inspector and presented an expired Railcard. Inspector was rude and towering over me demanding my details. I didn’t have my ID at the time, but gave my details. The fair discrepancy was about £2-3. I offered to pay at the time, however, Inspector was not having any of it. I had to tell him to move away from me several times as he made me very uncomfortable. I gave my details, showed my address in an app as he requested and was given a card. Cut to today 17.7.2025, I have received an email from GWR regarding this matter, who have said they have reviewed my tickets dated back to 2018 and charging me a fine of £2755 for tickets I have bought without a railcard. I have evidence that I have had a valid railcard in the past (admittedly there may have been times I didn’t but didn’t realise and as it stays in the app as an option I would go ahead and just buy a ticket). I have been given 3 weeks to pay in full or will be charged further and taken to court. I’m wondering if anyone has been in this position or can offer any advice on how to go about this as I do not have that much money to my name. Please help
How did this get reolved in the end?

If you're asking this because you find yourself in a similar situation, you'd be best placed to start a new thread of your own where you can provide the forum with the details of your case.

Edit: Actually, I can see that you already have.

To be fair this has been done but a flurry of posts has been made on several threads asking for updates.
