Hi I'm not being critical - it's a great idea and necessary but I'd re-word it somehow.

Point out that BR Western singled it (and nearly closed it completely beyond Salisbury) because London to Exeter is quicker (or was) on the Southern route.

The government and most of society are still being shortsighted about how gridlocked this country is going to become in the near future - especially in the South West.

Get influential people involved if possible. Paddy Ashdown - ex Liberal leader was furious when they rebuilt the bridge at Templecombe - London end, but only as a single track bridge.

Betcha didn't know there are still quite a few red (stop) signals down there that don't have AWS ramps !

It hasn't.

Longer passing loops have been, full double tracking hasn't.

Well, I don't think double track would be needed, as SWT running a more frequent than hourly service wouldn't pull in the crowds.
