I'd done a lot of railing yesterday therefore the box I filled in on my staff pass is still valid, so I decided to head out to St Davids.

Whilst there, I boarded the Sunday Rover service to Okehampton. For some reason I've never taken this route before. Nontheless, it was good. Kind of annoying it passes through my local station (Yeoford) but it's not a scheduled stop - oh well.

I was impressed with this service, and it's a very scenic route. I think if it was made into a twice-daily service on weekends, it could become very popular. The only disadvantage is the gigantic, long hill from the station to the town, but surely a shuttle bus could be made availible?

Anyway I thought it'd be cool to see any comments about this suggestion or the route in general...

Thanks
Hakzi

I had a bash down that route in May, certainly a bouncy run with the pacer although there were 3 of us that went to do it and we were the only ones on there so I can't seeing it making much money, perhaps if they ran it in the week it might do a bit better as opposed to Sundays only?

Did it in 2005, had a 150/2 (I forget which, it's in an A4 pad at home) on it from Okehampton to St. Davids. Not terribly exciting, I still recall wishing that the Thumper across from us was able to do the run.

If it had been running on Saturdays and when the Dartmoor galas were on it would have been extremely useful. As it is, I just find it to be one of those things to do once, get it in the book and not worry about doing it again.

Conductor on first weekend took a few hundred pounds on the service.

He didn't take any the weekend I was on it as his machine was broke! Mind you I think there were only two other people on the return run and there had been only us on the outward.
