Excessing an SWR semi flex return

I would appreciate some advice on how the excess fare should be calculated.

I hold a Southampton to London Terminal semi flex return ticket with a railcard discount, more specifically this one. This ticket’s condition prevents returning during evening peak hours (4-7pm). The SWR’s X team have confirmed that it can be excessed (they used the word swap) at a ticket office to allow returning during those evening peak hours. However, they were unable to confirm the fare it needs to be excessed into, or the additional cost. I wonder if anyone can help clarify this.

The excess is the full difference between the price paid and the appropriate fare (including any Railcard discounts, if applicable).

I think that would be the SVR, priced at £38.20

Further to that, would it then be possible to excess both portions to a SVR then, similar to excessing an SSR into an SVR?

Yes; there is no discount to only excess one portion, for this type of excess.
