Yesterday I bought an off-peak return from BZ4 to Didcot Parkway, with railcard under the pretense that it'd be cheaper than the equivalent London Terminals ticket. However upon further inspection this morning it'd appear that the Terminals to Didcot off-peak return is a full 40 pence cheaper than the boundary zone ticket. I was just wondering if anybody had any idea as to why this is, and whilst I certainly can't be bothered for the sake of 40p, whether getting it excessed would be at all possible. I note recent discussion has been had on whether boundary zone tickets even are excessable at the London end, though I couldn't find a reached consensus...
