Excesses and different peak-time restrictions

Let's say I have a Super Off Peak Return from London Terminals to Birmingham Stations, routed Via High Wycombe, restriction code PU, cost £31.40. This restriction code is rather generous, notably it's completely unrestricted at the weekend.

Since this is a route restricted ticket, it should be possible to excess it to a Route: Any Permitted ticket. A Super Off Peak Return, Route: Any Permitted ticket exists, for £36.00. However, this has much stricter time restrictions (restriction code SN), including at the weekend.

My question is: if I were to excess the first ticket to be Route: Any Permitted, what time restrictions would the resulting ticket+excess have? Or is such an excess not possible?

Excessing a ticket turns one ticket into the other one, so it would have the restrictions of the Any Permitted ticket. In practice, however, you'd probably get away with using the original on its own if you wanted, as they are rarely stapled together these days.
