I have just bought online (not collected) an Off peak return for today to Macclesfield from London Euston.

I have just found out that I need to go to Stockport rather than Macc this's afternoon. Then Stockport to Macc early evening.

Can I excess the fare to stay on to Stockport? Is it best doing at Euston or on the train?

I am. Returning to Euston tomorrow from Macc

Where facilities are available (as they are at Euston) an overdistance excess should be purchased before commencing the journey. This should be pretty straightforward at Euston.

Thank you. Will they be able to excess it back to Macc again.

Ie a £5.10 return rather than a £4.50 single plus another single later in the evening.

Yes, an Off Peak Return from London Terminals to Macclesfield can be excessed into an Off Peak Return from London Terminals to Stockport, this is an overdistance excess and should be obtained at Euston (or any other station prior to departure)

The difference is £1.70.
