Is it possible for VTWC to track down a guard from two years ago?

Have date and time of train, 3rd Sept 2016, 18:33 Euston to Liverpool, through total dedication to customer service he managed to salvage a disaster, should have written to Virgin trains to compliment him, never got round to it, now found paperwork for ticket after a clearout.

They almost certainly would hold that information; whether they would be prepared to actually have someone take the time to retrieve it is a different matter as it's unlikely to be held within the systems Customer Relations use. Does no harm in asking.

Fairly likely to have been a Liverpool guard at that time of evening? Write them a nice letter asking them to pass on your thanks to the relevant Guard Manager (or whatever the title is). If it gets pinned to the noticeboard it might get read by someone who knows, but I'm sure it will be appreciated anyway.
