Excellent :)

It'll be a while until it's ready for use I guess?

It's first passenger use in preservation was presumably at the Irish Traction Group's 25th anniversary gala on 18th October.

It came out to play following a mishap with the coaching stock ECS at the beginning of the gala and operated a couple of trips to Downpatrick Loop Platform and Inch Abbey.

Two shots of the unit at Downpatrick Loop:

Good to see this unit up and running. :) They were like a more modern version of our 'Thumpers'.

If only someone at BR had enough vision to order some. The Cl.210 was a start, but as usual Whitehall didn't want the expense bill.

Almost, but the rather rateable 210 would have been more technically advanced from the start - These 450s were effectively a 455 body on refurbished Mk1 chassis, with the traction equipment coming from the former 70 Class. But it's great to see at least one being saved, I do miss them!
