I was just wondering about railtour drivers, so say pathfinder they work with EWS drivers and so on a Spin & Win would EWS drivers drive say DRS 66 if it was on a tour or like GBRf 73s if they still sign them? or what ever company is making a loco available is it there own drivers that drive them?

Thanks for any replies, Jord

I think the driver will come from the same company as the loco. Pathfinder rarely use other operators appart from EWS. When they hire private locos in like 40145 or 55022, they use WCRC AFAIK...correct me if Im wrong.

Just was speaking to a bloke that works on the occasional Pathfinder railtour, and he said that yes EWS drive everything that's on a Spin & Win as pathfinder work with EWS, and the other companies just supply the locomotives, but it may be possible that pathfinder may stop using EWS for there charters and go with a different company as EWS are charging a fortune lately and maybe not use 37s as much as they have in the last year or so due to engine hours etc

That does indeed seem to be the case, if you look at the Pathfinder website, you'll see a lot of the newer tours are now booked to be hauled by 31s, sadly looks like the end is near for EWS 37s once again!
