Everything has been at a standstill at London Euston since 1800 due to a person being hit by a train. The station must be complete chaos by now.

Presumably the incident happened near Euston station itself since London Overground is also affected?

Looks like it is around the Camden / South Hampstead area, my Dad is on the 18:00 Manchester and it got through the area along with 9G37 to Wolves but they were the last two. Looking at RTT 1M14 arrival from Glasgow made it to Camden South Jn at 18:04 3/4 but has not got that last mile. Bad night for all concerned.

1M14 1340 Glasgow-Euston has struck someone just north of Park St tunnels. VT turning around at MKC etc.

It's not chaotic just crowded. Many people have taken advice to find alternative routes. Unfortunately I am going to Preston

PITA for Virgin. 18:00 to 20:00 tends to be the busiest time of day for VTWC passengers leaving Euston (except Fridays, when it is more like 13:30 to 20:00).

You'd be limited to Marylebone to Moor Street and a walk to New Street etc etc i guess if your ticket allowed it.

Unlikely to be of much help now that all Birmingham to Preston trains come from Euston.

You could, if really stuck, go London-Brum-Manchester(XC)-Preston(TPE/Northern). Also if things are going to be bad for a while it isn't unknown for them to turn trains at MKC or Northampton, but in this case the service recovered soon enough not to.

GWR have been accepting tickets between London Paddington and Newport. Quite the detour. I wonder if XC have been accepting tickets between Reading and Birmingham New St.

Displaced stock? Or will it all be back to normal by then?

I think Virgin are just running all their services an hour late. I was on the 1830 EUS PRE which left at 1930. Not sure what effect that has on crew hours.

One nice touch was that the 2147 Preston to Barrow in Furness TPE service was held at Preston for the connection. We were an hour and ten late. Good co-operation between TOCs

To save starting a new thread...

This evening's 9S97 17:43 Euston to Glasgow Central via Birmingham has hit a person as it passed through Rugby.
