I'm planning on not just visiting every station but arrive or depart via train from every platform (that's in use) o the national rail network. And was wondering if people wanted progress reports .
I'm aware of the time and cost to do this but it is something I've wanted to do for ages.

Sounds good, and a pretty epic task! There will be some difficult platforms which are officially still in use but seldom get trains, how are you going to approach those?

Is that the same as what is happening in this thread? Good luck whatever you choose to do!

Good luck with the challenge, especially when it comes to those platforms which see very little use for various reasons :)

As someone doing this quest, all I can say is "it's a fool's folly" j/k

opentraintimes advanced search is your friend, although you'll need to search for TIPLOC locations to make use of it. Lots of good info like this is in the thread linked above.

I wish you good luck and lots of memorable adventures.

It will be an epic adventure however you choose to do this. Years of enjoyment await, and as others have mentioned there are more than a few platforms that will challenge and frustrate in equal measure. Top Tip: If you have the opportunity to do something awkward just go for it. The easy stuff can always wait for another day, but the awkward stuff may not.

A commentary on how you did things is always welcome and feel free to message me if need be. My main problem has always been deciding what is, and what is not in use, and the answers will often change everytime there is a timetable change too. Good luck!!
