I went into a Tesco's earlier. A few things I picked up included a pack of 2 pork pies priced at £1.47. The helpful assistant advised me a pack of 6 slightly smaller pork pies was available for £1!

On this basis. Any chance Tesco could be franchised to sell rail tickets? Who knows, they might tell you when ticket splitting saves you money:)

I had in my recent clubcard mailing a 50p off voucher, the item was normally £1 but reduced to 50p on a offer so got it for free, another item had a 50p off voucher and a manufacturers voucher for £1 off, item was 1.25 so Tesco owed me money for buying those items and to test there system I put those through as a seperate transaction. Total showed as -25p! And the till instructed her to give me the change. Felt a bit like a extreme couponing moment as found on sky lifestyle channels!

Never knew that it would work that way! The best I do is combining the Superdrug meal deals with the 2 for offers, so you get the sandwich (even better if it's a triple!), 2 drinks and 2 crisps for about 40p more depending on what offers you choose, which lasts a lot longer! Remembering when I used to work next to a Boots they did the same as well.

The best was when I got a voucher for a free coke zero, so I got something like:

Sandwich £2.50
Coke Zero £1.50
Coke £1.50
Crisps 75p
Crisps 75p
= £7 without any offers
Then it would be £5.25 with the meal deal...
£3.75 with the meal deal and the 2 for offers (crisps 2f£1 so 25p more, coke 2f£2 so 50p more)
then to top it off, £1.50 off with the voucher so it brought the total to £2.25! Not bad ;)

It would be ticket slicing not splitting, and you'd only be able to go to Melton Mowbray.

too true!

Back on topic, or off as the case may be I had the recent pleasure of winning a £50 LIDL voucher on Facebook, the formentioned store being my favourite by miles as far as food shops go and whilst in using it cleared out a large of the reduced to clear fridge meaning I got around £85 worth of shopping for £68 and only parted with £18 of my own dosh.
