Except, as I've ranted before on several occasions, the USB points will be the cheapest possible supplier that can do the cheapest possible job to fulfil the DfT or ToC requirement for "Power Points".

No-one will fit proper ones unless there is a commercial advantage to it, for example, the EAO ones.

While BS1363 is certainly the comparitive gold standard for reliability (in my experience, in transport applications), power delivery and flexibility, one does hope that if they’re going down the USB route both type A and type C sockets are offered. While most people will have type A charging leads handy today I’m really not sure that will be the case in five or ten years time.
