Can anybody help me.

Will be travelling from Euston to Preston on Saturday 13th March. Aiming to get the 1030 out and 1758 back but the cheapest fares i can find are £35.10 up and £17.00 back so £52.10 for a return which seems quite high for an advance fair....

Have looked at going via Manchester but there seems to be no advance fares this way. Yet the following week advance fares available.

Anyone help?

Thanks

Consider a Crewe-Euston Super Off Peak Return (London Midland only) valid on any London Midland train at weekends. This is priced at £22.00 return.

Crewe to Preston is £21.00 Off Peak Return, or get Crewe-Wigan (£12.70) + Wigan-Preston (£6.20) Anytime Day Returns to save a few quid. You can use these on any train including Virgin Trains.

Doesn't Euston-Crewe take forever on LM?

Noticed that Virgin Trains offer discounts on groups of 10 or more travelling.

Any ideas as to how much that would be?

Thanks

Probably about 25% off the Off Peak fare or something, but you'd have to ask them. I doubt it's much better than that.

You'd probably get a bigger discount with a Family Railcard if you can get a junior Forest supporter to come along!

Now possibly looking at going via Sheffield and Manchester. A bit longer journey but a tenner cheaper....

The group of 10 discount was a saving of £1:(

Yes!, it would be quite annoying to be stuck on a '350' for over 3 hours, compared to 1 and a half on a Pendolino.

I do it every fortnight at least (Liverpool to London, changing at Stafford) sometimes weekly. It's not bad at all and the cheap tickets make it unbeatable for value.
