Euston Station question.

Hi, I am wondering if they have Ticket Barriers in operation on the Platforms that Virgin trains services arrive on or if it is Manual checking.

The reason for asking as planning to go to London with my Girlfriend, and found many 2 for 1 offers that is ran with National Rail but one condition is too have all tickets with you.

If it is Ticket Barriers is it possible to get checked by staff and to keep the ticket for the deals.

If you come to barriers and you need/want to keep your ticket and staff want to take your ticket then stand firm with them. I did at Euston when I was on a Stoke-Euston SSR , although they did insist on partially ripping it :roll:.

I would have preferred it to have been scribbled on with the pen sitting on the guys ear. Since I had a suitcase and lots of bags , I'm hardly likely to go running round scratching in units with a used ticket. Common Sense really is lacking in this world sometimes.

Virgin check tickets on the trains arriving into London, they do not collect tickets, and there is no exit barrier check.

If your destination is to an LUL station then you will need to speak to one of the gateline staff as their barriers normally retain the ticket at a destination station in my experience.

Thank you for the quick Replys.

Our destionation is to Euston as we are staying at the Travellodge that is just outside the station. But i will keep it in mind to stand firm for it, But suppose they do know that people use them for the deals etc.

Just thought to ask as i know at EDB that the Virgin trains occasionaly go into the bay platforms that use Ticket barriers.
