Is it possible to buy a ticket for this journey (day return just after 9am, 1adult, 1 child (aged 13) F&F railcard) inclusive of Cross - London transfer by tube via waterloo/vauxhall, and onwards? Ticket websites imply it is possible but it is never clear to me if the cross-london tube connection is included. If not any advice on best ticket options - i understand staines is not part of oyster/contactless payg yet? Thanks in advance.

You may find it cheaper to buy a ticket from somewhere slightly north of central London and disregard the first part of the validity.

I was able to find a ticket for £10.60 + £3.05 with the cross-London marker

But be sure they have a maltese cross if so; there are cheaper “not via London” fares also which I don’t think you want

Origin London zone 1 (0785) will give you fares at https://www.brfares.com/!expert?orig=0785&dest=SNS&rlc=FAM&period=20230903
£12.30 + £3.55
Perfect. I had forgotten about that code as the way to force a journey from the wrong terminal / zone 1 to use the tube.

Thanks. Will have a hunt. I originally had a look from South Hampstead and there are no fares available via Euston! :( Also looked from Watford and the off peak restriction only kicks in after 10am....

The southeastern website will sell you tickets for £8.35 and £2.40 (total £10.75) on the 0915 from Euston, change at Willesden Junction and Richmond, arrive Staines at 1022. You need to search for EUS-SNS and add a via point of WIJ (Willesden Junction). This is then a rail only journey, so no Underground charge is applied.

The forum's site offers that without any via points (though we do provide up to three vias and three avoids!) in "value" mode.

It's £5.10 extra for the Zone U1 ticket, if you prefer to use the tube via Waterloo/Vauxhall; the forum's site offers this in "fast" mode.
