Due to a points failure in the Watford Junction area, services are being disrupted out of Euston this evening. Lots of delays and cancellations currently. The concourse is pretty busy at the moment, with high temperatures not helping at all. Very hot and humid inside.

The picture shows the concourse at Euston looking very busy, as passengers await their delayed services to be advertised.

Yuk. I wonder if reciprocal arrangements have been made with eg: FGW, Chiltern, EMT to get folks to the West Midlands via alternative routes??

Mind you capacity could be an issue.

Signal failures are frequent at Watford, every week at leat. Not sure why Network rail can't resolve the problem

It needs to upgrade the signalling with dedicated signal boxes at Euston, Willesden, Watford and Bletchley …….

More seriously, the system we have now which has emerged in a long path from the 1960s system I allude to does seem to be relatively unreliable, but as to which components cause the unreliabilty I have no idea.
