Euston Dining Club Menu 1963

We had access to the 55 Broadway canteen when we were at the SRA in Victoria Street. Whereas OPRAF had access to a Lloyd’s Bank canteen when we were in Golding’s House at London Bridge. When I started at BR in 1980 based at Euston House I do remember a small coffee shop snack bar on the 3rd or 4th floor though there was still an officers mess up top and still officers toilets! We used the Stephenson Room as a canteen which was on the first floor in the station opposite above where M&S is now.

The Stephenson Room , as I recall was pretty dire - "plat due jour" of fishfingers and manky chips ! -

Always referred to as ‘The Top Drain’ in my experience in Euston House. (To distinguish it from the (Bottom) Drain - the train crew and station staff canteen somewhere under Euston Station.)

Probably better food in the bottom location !
