Does anyone know what class you can travel in on your connection from Brussels to "Any Belgian Station" if you have a "leisure select" or a "business premier" Eurostar ticket?

Does anyone know what class you can travel in on your connection from Brussels to "Any Belgian Station" if you have a "leisure select" or a "business premier" Eurostar ticket?

Both "leisure select" and "business premier" have 1 printed in the Class box on the ticket and I have personal experience of a "leisure select" ticket LONDON ST-PANCRAS to BRUXELLES MIDI endorsed "Valid from/to Any Belgian Station" being accepted without question in First Class on SNCB/NMBS.

The FAQ on the Eurostar website confirms this, but in a roundabout way:

"Please be aware that you will need to travel in the same class of service as on Eurostar."

Could you really get done for being in standard class with a first class ticket?

I suppose there's a certain logic, in that you are depriving someone in standard class of a seat when you're supposed to be in first class.

No way. Irrespective of Eurostar's convoluted wording, 1st class tickets are always valid also in 2nd class - unless anyone can prove me wrong?

Edit: General Terms and Conditions for the International Carriage of Passengers by Rail (GTC-CIV): "A ticket which is not issued for a specific train or linked to a reservation entitles its holder to carriage in a lower category of train or lower class of travel."

This would be relevant for the SNCB bit which is valid for any connecting train within 24 hours.
