I have a eurostar journey booked in January. I’ll be travelling from Brighton, and usually just get a ticket on the day (or use my smart card payg).
With strikes looming, I’m considering getting the brighton-london CIV ticket, thinking this might make any refunds/delays easier to manage (though it’s a company paid ticket anyway, and they’ll pay regardless I’m sure)
Looking up in BRFARES I came across https://www.brfares.com/!faredetail?orig=BTN&dest=LNE&rte=789&tkt=ES2 which is a 10p ticket. Is this available for the brighton-eurostar link (I have a valid eurostar ticket purchased I can show) ?
That being said, I’ve just read back through some older articles, and it looks like they are not general fares. With that said, what’s the current best (cheapest) way to get such CIV tickets? Calling eurostar? At a station? And in practical terms is it worthwhile?
As above, this won’t personally affect me, but it may do when I book a leisure trip, plus it always makes sense to be diligent with someone else’s money!
