Eurostar snap advice

Hi all, ive got to get to Germany in a couple weeks, and was just going to use interrail all the way for ease, but there is seemingly no eurostar availability, so I though id use snap.
Just wondering if I go for an Amsterdam ticket afternoon departure, there only seems to be a 3pm and a 6pm, would it definitely be one of thoes 2, or is there a chance that it can involve a earlier departure and changing somewhere

No idea, but I can't see ES offering you a trip with a change of train.

Have you checked Interrail availability to Amsterdam rather than Brussels? It's sometimes better as I have found, and you can stop short in Brussels without problems.

Unfortunately September is peak season (all us oldies....)

Availability is almost non existing, exept for a couple very early mornings i haven't found a thing thru interail, even though flex has plenty

Could you go to Brussels on Eurostar then intercity Direct to Amsterdam?

Thanks, id not even considered that as an option, but it could possibly work. On a sidenote, I found the photo of 'Liverpool Street' quite funny, it is certainly a Liverpool station that is on a street

Depending on where in Germany you want to end up (and when) the "Dutch Flyer" might be worth looking at.

I will also add that you should check with promo code EURAIL2026, which provides discounts on foot passenger crossings. You don't need to activate a travel day to use this offer, but you do need an Interrail/Eurail pass which is valid/could be activated on the date you are sailing on.

You should also check for Rail & Sail tickets. Sometimes, like when I used the service this week, Rail & Sail tickets will be cheaper than even this discounted foot passenger ticket. In my case, I paid -£6 (yes, it was £6 cheaper!!) for the privilege of taking the train to London Liv St as well. Greater Anglia run "boat trains" from London Liverpool St, Lowestoft/Ipswich and Cambridge directly to and from Harwich International for both the day and night ferry crossings.

The Rail & Sail only covers Greater Anglia services, so you might find it more economical to use an in/out travel day to get down to the East of England anyway.

I can thoroughly recommend it as a great way to travel to the continent, and am more than happy to answer any questions you might have about the ferry service.

Where are you looking for a reservation?

I have just browsed RailEurope for a 2nd (and 1st) class reservation to Amsterdam, both two and four weeks from today and there are numerous reservations available across the whole day?


I have used RailEurope for many years now for Eurostar reservations and only have had a problem once

Just on the main interail site, it would be around 2 weeks yes, ill have to check that out too.
Im trying to do it on a budget so avanti superfare and eurostar flex seems a safe bet if I can get the timings right

Yeah from my experience, you can source reservations from Interrail themselves, however they appear “sold out” even if other retailers such as B-Europe or RailEurope have reservations available.
Interrail is always the first one to become “sold out”.
