Hello everyone, on Wednesday 21st September I had the oppertunity to go to Ebbsfleet International Station in order to potentially see a Eurostar E320 in action. Thanks to Real Time Trains I had a basic idea of when Eurostar trains would be passing through Ebbsfleet. My Dad and I set off from Felixstowe for the drive to Manningtree Station where we would get a train to London Liverpool St. We only just boarded the 10:02 departure which was formed of the usual pair of Class 360 Desiro units.
Once in London and after a quick ride on an S Stock Train to Kings Cross St Pancras lunch was had before boarding the 13:12 Javelin service which would take us to Ebbsfleet's low level platforms. Once there the waiting began to see if an E320 would appear. A Eurostar from Paris was due to stop at Ebbsfleet to set down passengers and incredibly it was indeed an E320 and the set was 4003/4004.
This would not be the only E320 as another one also bound for London raced through non stop on the London bound through line. We headed back to St Pancras on the 16:35 Javelin departure which was slightly late as a road vehicle had apparently struck a railway bridge further down the line.
After having dinner in a nearby Burger King we looked around St Pancras some more and just before we left a third E320 set pulled in from Paris.
The journey back home was thankfully without problems despite only just getting a seat on the Mk3 set working the 19:00 departure from London Liverpool St to Norwich. I hope you enjoy reading this report.
