The attractive glass and wood structure which was built to be the Eurostar processing facility at platform 11 is being demolished, anybody know why?

Hi! I'm new, long time reader first time poster.
To answer your question, it's for the automatic ticket gateline at central station. I was there earlier, around half of it is gone and the whole area around the Ayrshire platforms is looking more spacious already!

Because Eurostar never got to Glasgow.
Seriously though with HS2 I would have thought there would be more of a cast for Eurostar to Scotland again?

After it was built and the services cancelled, didn't they convery it into some kind of retail use? Or am I imagining that?

Thanks for replies, most recently it was used as a temporary studio for a local radio station, but can't remember any retail use, shame because it was a nice structure, would have been a nice bar/restaurant. Nice place to while away the hours waiting for my late running train this winter!

It was briefly used as a waiting area for sleeper passengers
Virgin Trains used it for a while
It spent more time empty than in use
If I remember correctly it was to have been an overnight journey, leaving Glasgow about 6pm arriving Paris about 8am, stopping at Edinburgh en route. Shame it never happened.

I had a dream that if I had been made redundant which was a threat last year that I was going to try and rent it and turn it into a model railway shop! I thought it would have been an ideal spot!
