Eurostar checked baggage?

My brother-in-law and his wife are thinking of taking the Eurostar from Paris to London in a future trip to Europe and have asked me if Eurostar has a checked baggage option, or baggage handlers available. They are older and have some health issues that make it very difficult, if not impossible, for them to handle their luggage themselves. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Eurostar does offer both.

I presume they must at least be able to tow their own bags behind them on a flat surface? On Eurostar you never have to climb any stairs with your luggage, it's just a single step up from the platform on to the train, with the bags then stowed immediately inside the door.
For passengers with limited mobility, Eurostar will allow them to board first before everyone else, and provide helpers to help them with their luggage - there are always a lot of staff on the platform anyway, to help with boarding. I've never actually used it myself of course but it's quite impressive to me how much care they take of passengers with babies/wheelchairs etc.

I agree, but would be slightly cautious if departing from Paris. Normally things go smoothly, but if they travel at a busy peak departure time, there is often not enough staff to provide this assistance as well as handle the general queues. I'd strongly recommend that they avoid departures Monday mornings before 10am, Fridays 11am-2pm and after 5pm and Sundays completely. Paris Nord is indeed the busiest station in Western Europe! Perhaps contact Eurostar beforehand to see if you can book something in advance for them, avoiding those busy periods?
