Hello all. If wonder if anybody here knows the answer to this question.

I have tickets from Ebbsfleet to Lille for August. Although I haven't had formal notice yet, I know the train I am booked on is not running, and even it it were would not be stopping at Ebbsfleet because stops there are currently suspended. There ARE trains to Lille that day, but if I use 'manage my booking' to try and change my train, the booking engine doesn't find them because it persists in searching for trains from Ebbsfleet only, and doesn't offer Saint Pancras as an alternative. The logical thing would be for E* to automatically rebook me on a train the same day from STP, in the way an airline would. Does anyone know if E* are doing this? Or will they just contact me three days before the journey and say, 'Tough luck, it's cancelled. Have some vouchers.'?

Many thanks.

PS I posted a while ago about getting a refund rather than vouchers from my wife's tickets to Avignon. In the end I contacted E* through their Facebook page and they agreed (albeit reluctantly) to refund the money.

When in August are you travelling? If towards the end, I think there's a reasonable chance Ebbsfleet will have reopened for Eurostar services. If not, based on the experience of a friend with a similar query last week, it's likely they'll offer you a rebooking from St Pancras for the same day, or vouchers back, but they'll only do this a few days before travel.

If it were me, I'd probably contact Eurostar on social media about a week before travel if Ebbsfleet is still closed and see what they can do in terms of rebooking the nearest equivalent from St Pancras proactively.

ISTR with Eurostar that you're allowed to board from St Pancras with an Ebbsfleet ticket or vice versa, so if the train (i.e. the one with the same 9xxx number) is still running would you need to rebook?

The actual trains themselves are not running (or not showing up if I search STP to Lille for the dates in question).

There is still no date given by e* for the reopening of the Kent stations, I think there's a lot of work to be done with social distancing etc, plus wether or not it's economically viable to open them as they're a relatively small source of passengers for e*.

Your best bet would be to call the customer services number and they should rebook you onto one running from St Pancras.
