I have a trip planned to The Belgium Beer festival in a few months time and my Eurostar train back from Brussells arrives into St.Pancras at 14:05.

I have just been looking at trains back home and I can book one at 14:30, which is considerably cheaper than any for the next few hours.

I know that if you have 2 or more singles for one journey and if you miss your connections and can prove you left enough time between trains then you would be able to catch another train, but does this apply to Eurostar to VTEC too and is there a minimum connection time between St.Pancras and KX as I don't want to book the 14:30 onward connection only to miss it if the Eurostar is delayed for any reason and then have to pay full fare on the day.

Thanks.

Prior to the removal of the table from the National Rail Timetable, the minimum connection time between St Pancras and Kings Cross was given as 30 minutes (i.e. the sum of the minimum connection time at each station) plus an additional 35 minutes where Eurostar was involved.

With the "new" fixed link method of determining connections, this appears to have been reduced to a total of 36 minutes (35 minutes at StP, 1 minute to cross the road) as both Eurostar's own website and Loco2.com offer Grand Central's 14:48 departure as a connection from that particular Eurostar.

Looks like I could be taking a gamble then by booking that 14:30 train. It's just that the next 3 or 4 later ones I could catch are over twice the price of the 14:30.

ISTR there being flexible fares available from London International CIV valid only in conjunction with a Eurostar ticket, with the fare being lower than usual.

Here is KGX-LDS at £55, for example. Eligible for railcard and child discount.

Loco2 used to sell them, Trainline/Rail Europe might, and most booking offices should.

As Mr Seat 61 explains here, ATOC/RDG have got difficult with online retailers selling these tickets, though Raileasy seemingly still sells some, depending on the TOC in question for the journey.
