Based on what Wikipedia says about Class 37 subclasses, Europhoenix's 37800 was one of the Class 37/7 locomotives modified for heavy freight with extra weight etc for South Wales coal trains and the like, duties later allocated to Type 5 diesels.

Does anyone know if the loco kept these modifications when Europhoenix refurbished it?

As far as can be determined the locos kept all the modifications weight wise etc. or they would have to reclassified again and possibly renumbered. I believe that all europhoenix locos kept whatever mods they have.

That is unless someone knows otherwise or can confirm changes to the locos.

Hope this helps
