European Track Mileages

Hi

I was wondering if anybody could point us at a source (or sources) of Track Mileages for passenger trains in Europe. This is to help us establish an accurate total for the Great European Circular Railway Challenge - link below.

There are books available for various countries, produced by Stuart Clarke, and the Eisenbahnatlas series of atlases also give distances. Not sure if it's still produced but the Thomas Cook European Timetable also gives some distances.

Thanks for the info.

The Eisenbahnatlas volumes seem to be £35-40 quid each and Santa's already got this year's list. I couldn't find anything likely looking by Stuart Clarke on Amazon. Does anybody know what the books he's done are called.

I guess that ideally we are looking for on line sources.

There is a variety of sources for distances.

For France, try the route diagrams on the comprehensive web site by by Alstom employee Florent Brisou:

For Switzerland, the SBB does it all for us!:

Wikipedia sometimes helps if you look at the version in the local language.

For example

is a list of all lines in Belgium and by selecting each one, you usually get a diagram with distances, such as
